Artist Statement
My introduction to enameling was at a summer camp for the arts in the Berkshire Mountains. As I was the only camper in the enameling class, I received the exclusive attention from the famous etcher and enamellist, Kalman Kubinyi. During that summer, with the guidance of Mr. Kubinyi, I discovered what would become my lifelong goal: to be an enamelist. In pursuit of this goal, I have taken enameling and metalsmithing classes at Touchstone Center for Crafts, Peters Valley, Penland, Arrowmont and John Campbell Folk School. I also studied at the University of the Arts, Worchester Craft Center, Fuller Craft Museum, The Delaware Museum School and Parsons School of Design. My enamel designs reflect my love of American folk art, Chinese brush painting and the illustrations from the German Bauhaus.
I create my jewelry at Nextfab in Philadelphia. Every piece is made by hand and is one of a kind.
